There is something special about celebrating Christmas under the wide-open skies of the Texas Hill Country. Mild winter evenings, rolling landscapes and rustic charm create the perfect backdrop for a holiday festival, and it is exactly why Old West Christmas Light Fest calls Boerne home.
Natural Beauty Meets Holiday Cheer
Enchanted Springs Ranch sits among live oaks and limestone just off Highway 46. As the sun sets over the Hill Country, the sky turns gold and pink behind the windmill, and then the town lights up one street at a time. We lean into that natural beauty: the lights wrap the old oak trees, glow along the fence lines and frame the stars overhead instead of hiding them.
Open Spaces for Family-Friendly Fun
Because the festival is outdoors in a 6-acre town, families can spread out and explore at their own pace. Kids have room to run between the Barrel Train, the playground and the lawn games while parents grab a seat by the campfire. The Hill Country’s mild December weather usually makes for comfortable evenings, though a warm jacket and comfy shoes are always a good idea once the sun goes down.
A Setting That Feels Uniquely Texan
The Old West town adds a layer of charm you will not find at an indoor attraction. Longhorns, saloons, a chapel wrapped in lights, a trick roper and a covered wagon under a glowing Texas star: it is a Christmas scene that feels timeless and distinctly Texan.
Make a Hill Country Holiday Getaway
Boerne is an easy drive up I-10 from San Antonio, which makes it perfect for a holiday day trip or a weekend getaway. Spend the day on Main Street, stay at one of the area’s beautiful Hill Country hotels, and end the night at the lights. Opening weekend, November 27–29, lines up with Boerne’s Dickens on Main celebration for a full weekend of holiday cheer.
We are open 5:00–10:00 PM on 15 nights: November 27, 28 and 29; December 4, 5 and 6; December 11, 12 and 13; and every night from December 18 through December 23, 2026.
